**COMMENTS**

This series is completely lackluster and, much to my regret, it destroys a character who, for me, is one of the perfect complements to the Batman universe, alongside Nightwing, Batgirl, or Robin.

Wait, we must differentiate between Batwoman and Batgirl, because they are not the same character. Batwoman is portrayed as Bruce Wayne’s cousin, Kay Kane, while Batgirl is Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Gordon’s daughter. In the comics, both characters have their own stories and completely different outcomes, one of which we saw in the comic ‘The Killing Joke’, created by Alan Moore.

But leaving the comics aside, we find a series, which initially was planned to have about 23 episodes but had to be reduced due to the COVID pandemic. This series is a new spin-off from the Arrowverse (I would say the sixth), and it will be the first to be canceled, indeed, so don’t expect a long development like the other series from the same universe.

Delving into the series, we meet Katy Kane, Bruce Wayne’s cousin who returns to a Gotham City where the bat has disappeared, and an organization called The Crows had to be created, thereby establishing an eternal dispute between the bat and this organization to combat crime.

In my opinion, excluding the CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS episode in which the second part takes part, this series contributes little to a story that is often boring, aside from the dark suit portrayals for those who are complete fanatics of the world of the bat.

By the way, one point that I find interesting is the attempt, perhaps forced, to normalize lesbianism within a superhero series. In my opinion, series should depict relationships in a natural and normal way, not creating forced scenarios with a vindictive air that only end up destroying what they attempt to represent.
